About

Rapid advances in clinical care have extended life expectancy in life limiting and non-curative cases and provoked a number of thoroughly contemporary, yet at the same time ancient, questions about the implications of ‘living with dying’.

New Thinking on Living with Dying is an AHRC-funded network of academics and practitioners interested in exploring these questions. The interdisciplinary network is based at the University of Liverpool, although members are from various universities and organisations within the UK and beyond.

Our second public event, ‘Chronic Illness and Well-Being’, will take place on June 10th 2013 at the Foresight Centre, Liverpool.  Speakers include Arthur W Frank (Calgary) and Claire Colebrook (Pennsylvania State).  See our research workshops page for further details.
